endurance race at the Motoplex.

well Paul and the Motoplex is talking about having a Endurance race. they are talking 10 hrs!!! Of course they will have a team comp, and a single comp. I was thinking of a Tampabayridindirty team. If we break up the 10 hrs between 4 people that would be 2 1/2 hrs of riding each. That does not mean that all 2 1/2 hrs has to be done non stop.you could break it up what ever way you want. Oh also he is talking about a cash prise also. The entry is going to be right at 100.00 for a team. so 25.00 each. who would be down to race this with me.

the race has been changed to the 13th of december. Also In the endurance race you will be able to use your own bike. I was thinking of getting a group of 4 and keep changing after 2 laps. so people would stay fresher.

Sorry I dont sandbag for anybody I am to dam competetive for that. But anyway. I took clint out to the plex today and we did about 30 miles on the race course and he is worn out.. I really do suggest starting to practice now and build stamina. You can ask clint its alot harder than you might think. But with the talent of riders on this board I am sure your team can make a good showing.

Ok well here is a dilema. I got a call today from one of the fast XC racers that I race with at the plex. He was supposed to be on another team but wants to be on Team Motoplex. So I am thinking that he is calling me to see if I would let him take my place. What do you guys think I should do? how long does it take (about) to do one lap?

Um the last race that I did there was the SSQSA race that was 11 miles and it took about 22-24 min per lap so this one will be around 15 miles per lap so I would say about 35 min or so I guess.

ok so Andy just PM'd me and he is in for the race. so as a deffinate we have ME, chad and Andy. we need 1 more racer. and then the training will begin. But for now what stratagy does everybody think is best. Run 2 laps each and then change out, 1 lap, or a certain time? the time would be harder to keep track of.

Brian, i think 2 laps is a great idea, maybe we start off with 2 laps for the first 6-7 hours, then go to 1 lap each to stay as fresh as possible....

You tell me when a good day is for you guys. andy will have to know a little ahead of time. I have a race this saterday and then I am good til jan sometime for the next SSQSA race. Clint and I went out there last weekend and he said that it was harder than he thought. This weekend is a feature weekend so it might be a good weekend to go if you can make it up there. The MPCC race starts at 2:00 so we would have all morning for you to try the course.

Yeah i know you wouldnt be riding the whole time i would just like to see the pace and what its like to ride these course's. Id like to see whats it all abouit before i commit to anything. And if not this one maybe the next one.

Hummm, 100 miles may be too much, see if that track is like you mentioned before 15 miles, and let say 30 minutes per lap
1hour = 2 laps = 30 miles
10 hours = 20 laps = 300 miles

300 / 4 riders = 75 miles

Wow that's a lot of miles

but I'm not sure about those numbers, last race I did 5 laps 11 miles track = 55 miles in almost 2 hours. . . will see, the track gets really rough as the time and riders go by and the speed will dicrease my hands too... lol
