Ok well I guess we will start with the story. I took off friday so I can go down and do the fun run on friday afternoon. I met my friend thad in Ocala about 11:30 a.m. and we drove down. We get there around 2 p.m. and there is a guy at the front gate to meet us. The property that we raced on was about 1 1/2 miles to the back of this persons property, we had to go through cow pastures the whole 1 1/2 miles also. and yes I have some pics of the cows for all you cow lovers. Anyway We had to put the suzuki back together before we did anything. Figures a suzuki was broke right. So we go out for the fun run. I am glad I did this because my shocks were still set up for Hard Rock and was way to tight for the whooped out course the SSQSA set up. so I got the suspension set up for the race the best I could. and by that time the fun run was over. So we packed up the bikes in the trailer and headed out to golden coral for dinner. on the way back we met up with my other friends that had our sleeping arangements for the night. The next morning was race day. Chad got to the property at about 7:30 and parked close to my group. Mine and chad's race started at 12:00 and is a 1 1/2 hr race. I had a good start and was third into the woods. I am not sure on chads start.
The course was starting to get ate up by all the riders from the races before and was rouph and the whoops were deep and everywhere. Pitchure riding A trail whoops at croom for a hour and a half. Anyway I passed one guy on a raptor and felt another rider on my but. so after the first lap I let the rider go because my hands were killing me. The rider behind was chad. I had to let my hands recover for a bit and then hit it again. Chad was having bike trouble and I got back by him. I didnt look back to see how close he was after that. So on lap 4 I was tired and my hands were feeling better so I was on the gas. I had a open section with a palmetto bust to the right and a rider that I was going to pass in the trail. so I thought I could make it past the rider in between the palmetto. My right wheel hit the palmetto and I went flying. I dont remember what exactly happened but the rider that I was passing told me that I hit the Palmetto and I went one way and the bikewent about 6 feet in the air. all I remember is going for it and then being on the groundand feeling wet. I immediatly thought blood. but then realized it was cold. my camelback popped. I must have been on the ground for a while getting my senses back and then rolled over and started to get to my hands and feet and finally got up and back on my bike. to find that the bar mount screws were bent on the anti vibe and my tie rod is loose. So I start the bikeand finish the race. when I was on all 4's I see chad pass again. I check the scores after the race and chad finished 2nd and I finished 3rd. I was surprised and happy with that because even a third beet the guy who is in first place in the series. so I gained some points on him.

So here are some pics.

Thanks for the kind words gang. It was a fun race and a good course. Brian was not kidding about whooped out...it was crazy...there were also many areas where the whoops had been there a while (the property has been XC ridden for a few years now) and had grassed over so you really couldnt tell how bad they were till you were in them...made for some fun at race pace...

as for the race...it was pretty good...with 11 guys on the line and a very tight 1st turn, i decided to stay out of the fray and go in near the back and make my hay in the 2nd and 3rd laps....that actually worked out well, i was obviously faster than most of the others in the class and i made lots of passes on the last half of the 1st lap...by that time i caught Brian and we were pacing pretty well for a while and catching and making time on a few guys in front of us, then he had a jam-up on a bad whoop and looked like he hurt his hand...i went by and started chasing the 1st place guy....then trouble....my temp light came on so i had to make a 5 or 6 stops to let it cool off a little...Brian passed while i was stopped. I chased again, passed Brian while he had crashed, had a great battle with a 25+ rider in to the scoring tent (all the personel were a little freaked, cause we battled all the way to the end and almost got into the EZ-up and scoring table with a TRX and YFZ)....

i was happy with the race overall...mechnical trouble and a 2nd...Brian had a crash and a 3rd and probably took over the points lead.....

another pretty cool thing was that we had 3 GNCC pros at the event racing in the pro-am class...they were showing us all HOW IT'S DONE....

we had..

#2 Chris Borich, factory Suzuki/Rockstar team with a factory LTR
#7 (now #6) Taylor Kiser, ex factory KTM, now running his own Yamaha program with factory support
#789 Brandon Sommers, factory support Yamaha rider

Brian and i spent about 20 minutes before the Pro-am moto talking iwith Taylor Kiser dad, very cool dude and very friendly...class act family right der!!!
Also got to talk a little with Chris Borich, (the #2 rider behind Ballance last season) and he was also very cool....

pics to come...i dont have any of Brian, but i did get some Pro pics and a few of Luis (Tico-Tampa)...

not sure how Luis did, but i got a good pic of him grabbing the Holeshot in the 35+ class....im sure he did well cause he was haulin ass and pacing with Sommers for a few laps (thats damn good)....

Hey, I was the "personel" in the scoring tent. I wasnt freaked out until the afternoon race. When Kiser, Borich and Sommers are coming at you at race pace this can make a man freak out a little. The amazing thing is how they are full tilt till they get right to the tent then they stop smootly and leave just as smoothly.Great job everyone who finished and good try for those who didnt. The turnout was good but we need more so at the next one everyone bring a friend. I will be posting a couple of pics on Florida Quad Riders site. Did anyone race Brooksville? I have a bunch of pics to post from that one also.I had a great time scoring you all and look forward to the next one.

Thank's Jon I'll check the pics on the other site, I did race there too!

About the race, I finish second after I got the holeshot and couldn't keep the lead, I haven't been practicing that much lately all I have been doing is  and :SugarwareZ-061: and I really felt it Saturday . . . and today lol

Thank's Chad for the timing and great pics, I felt really good on some of the laps, I'm sure those were the ones you timed lol
It was a nice track, I really liked I just wish I were in better shape I would enjoy a lot more and could of give Willis (the guy who bit me) a nice battle but it was all good, to deal with some of this guys you have to be on the gas all the time, if you loose concentration they will just leave you in the dust.

Good job Chad and Brian.

I'll see you guys/gls on the dirt I guess I will be a lil more out practicing nd less time
