front sprocket question

Dose anyone know what year the 400ex went from a 17 tooth spline output shaft to a 13 tooth??

Helping sara put a new chain on her 2005 400ex and her old sprocket is a 13 tooth spline and the new one was 17 tooth spline. Figured it was sent wrong I run to cycle gear to pick up another one and on the package it says 99-05 400ex and that ones also a 17tooth so im confused. Maybe they switched mid year?

Dose anyone have a 06 and up 400ex have a front sprocket laying around that they could count the splines for me. Or even count them with the sprocket still on the bike... Need to know what year sprocket i need to call around and find in the morning.

And Sara owes whoever it is that can come up with the info so she can ride Sunday...:crackup:

You sure the motor is the same year as the bike?

I have the old '02 sprocket from my old bike. It is a 17 tooth spline.

Well now i need to find a 06-08 sprocket and see if its like the one that came off

i have a 07 400ex ill try to look at it tonight . call me in about 2 hours ill go look at it . 727-235-5068

Oddly enough Vortex and tag list all years being the same..
Found one at barneys today and they carry sunstar and they list them from 99-04 and 05-08 and they had the correct one in stock for her 05.
