I check my frame usually every ride for cracks. When things get sketchy and it feels like I just landed with solid bars welded rather than shocks I check the frame rails because i've seen them crack but not on any of the machines i've owned. BARE makes a nice kit if you think you need it.

Unless your riding on "A" class or top "B" level I dont think you will need to worry about gussets.

what about 'bigger framed" guys?

I went to go look at some new quads today, and all have a max capacity of 220lbs - 240lbs riders with gear. I asume thats due to the aluminum frames now days. thought that if I strenthen teh frame, I would be good to go.

I unfortunatly have you all beat I weigh in at 285 and I beat the crap out of my bike and had no problems yet. But I did crack the nerf bars in half.

I know the YFZ's, you gusset them on the rear shock mount, steering steem support, and on front by the shocks mounts too, besides a support for the sub-frame, the kit come with some other pieces but the one I mentioned are the most comun ones.

Same thing with the TRX450, they all break by the peg mount and the front upper part of the frame, there is a kit for those too, I have done a lot of jobs in both quads, with gusset kits or some other ones that I have made myself, all this specially for some friends that race MX and let me tell you, those frames will twist or break in some other place.

If you ride hard something is goin to break, if you are not racing or anything a long those lines any quad (450's and up) will be good for you, those Raptors are really powerfull and strong machines, right Andy?

But I did crack the nerf bars in half.

You know that Pro Armor is aware of this happening and they have been replacing everyones that is cracked? Still got them laying around? Give them a call and maybe make a sell on them since you already got different nerfs. I actually called them a couple days ago about my concern with that and some questions on future products. Nice people there.
