Sweet !!!! That would be the only reason I would live out there. A track and NO neighbors :D

There are a lot more reasons to live in the country than having an MX track and no neighbors. I can deer hunt from my front porch, make my own moonshine and homemade wine, and walk naked around the farm without having to worry about an unplanned trip to the pokey.

Seriously, I lived in Tampa for the last 15 years and after living in TN for the past year, I cannot force myself to understand why I did not make this move earlier. One of the very few things I regret in life. Gone are the days of 1/4 acre lots, 15 feet between houses, light pollution at night, jackass neighbors, 135 db car stereos in the middle of the night, traffic, insurance problems, ridiculous real estate taxes, etc. I'm sure these things exist here but I could never seem to escape them in Tampa. I'll take my woods, fields, wildlife, MX track, low taxes, unbelieveably low insurance rates, privacy, quietness, roosters crowing at the crack ass of dawn and cheap housing anyday.

That's beautiful country to visit...But, Way to much isolation for me!

But, I know of quiet a few people moving up to Tenn. & N.Car.

And buying Homes with land!

B,

There always room for another plumber. You could sell your Tampa McMansion and pay cash for a home that is twice the size. No house payment equals more moto-X time in my book. You could even put the old lady to work so you and I can concentrate on riding quads, drinking cocktails, and building motocross tracks. Sounds like a sweet deal to me.

I was driving home last night and not paying as much attention as I should have been (probably fetching a beer from the cooler), when I looked up, I was literally driving through the middle of a herd of deer. I have no idea how I did not tag a single one. I learned a serious lesson last night and moved the cooler to the front seat.

i tell ya i do contemplate it!! my biggest challenge would be the cold also. when the housing market picks back up????? i first would have to sell mine and so far houses in our area are sitting still. dude that built 2 door down started at 545 and is down to 420, hes hatin it. been built for almost a year now.

B,

So the housing market in Tampa still sucks? I guess I got lucky and was able to sell my house in a reasonable amount of time. I was also a motivated seller and dropped my price significantly. Still sold the house for more than it should have been worth. Paul and Tracy just bought a new house in Riverview and paid $250K less than what I sold mine for. There house is very similar to what mine was. Mine was about 200 square feet larger and had a pool. The new house I am building is running right at $70 per square foot. My house in Tampa sold for around $200 per square foot. That's insane.
