As you know i have been laid off my engineering job. Our economy is producing a lack of new projects and i cant find an engineering job, most are still laying off.

So....I have recognized a lack of options regarding our shocks and rebuilds or service. I have learned a lot about suspensions and we should be servicing our shocks at minimum yearly. the biggest problem we all have is our springs. shcck springs are for a specific weight and most of us are different than the oem. also like my honda, some springs are a linear rate and suck. besides GTT what do you do?

well i cant say who yet but i have preliminary approval for an authorized dealer for an aftermarket company which produces parts and has service. i would be able to provide rider specific springs dual or triple rate, replace seals, revalve, replace oil and provide dampening tuning onsite (wherever i am at the time on a planned schedule). also plan on having demo shocks i can bolt on to your bike to give them a try.

I am going to operate out of trailer which will have all the shop goodies i can haul to races, practice track days, events and tbrd rides! I plan to wrap the trailer with full color logos on a picture background. I will have the website set up with a shopping cart for online sales and promotions to help.

Everything is setup or in process. but, i am working on a couple of things you guys might be able to point me in the right direction:

1. im buying a used trailer within a couple days. i need atleast a dual axel 16' to 20' with rear ramp. i have looked on craigslist and have a couple im looking at but want to know if anyone has one or knows of one.

2. i need a generator that is 8000 watts... also looking used. again i have some marked on craigslist but....

3. need a rv type roof a/c installed. im told to go to a rv dealer. any other ideas?

trying to keep things simple to start. but, also have other potential bigger plans in the works for RD Performance.

I appreciate your help and any ideas you may have. I hope to provide us all with a good option for our suspensions that doesnt blow the bank.

Where I work we have lots of spare parts for trailers. If you pick one up let me now. We can redo all the wheel bearings and hubs for free. I just need to see the hubs. Will help any way I can. I also have solar panels at work and canset you up with maybe a setup that way. I have done some trailers with solar to help with power. Wouldnt cost you anything.

B.... I can either help you out with alot of your needs or hook you up with someone that can or even vendors.

I work on gens and a/c's. I also have an accout with Redneck trailer supply so I get cost on trailer parts even roof mount a/c's which will beat dealer costs.
alos the guy I told ya about for the stickers could possibly do a wrap.

I am finally back in town and have the next 2 weekends off and should have some time to work on a few of those things.

let me know

The only thing I can offer Brian are my hands.
If you need help setting up the trailer or whatever let me know.
I'll keep an eye out for those parts also.

Regardless... This is great! Wish you the best with it...and I'll be your first customer!!!

This is a smart idea Brian. Like you said besides GTT what do you do? They have no competition besides the manufacturers really.

How often should a shock be serviced??

To keep any shock performing good for a long time it needs to be serviced and cleaned periodically. How often it is needed depends on how extreme the shocks are used how serious a rider is about keeping their suspension in top condition.

Example:

Pro – Every National

Amateur racer – 2-3 times per season

Trail and general riding – Every 6 months

B, I just read this on the GT Thunder site. I would bet the farm that a lot of local racers would much rather have their shocks serviced locally and quickly instead of sending them off for what would be a couple weeks after shipping time. :thumb:

Plenty of high end rebuild competion...

Competition Nationwide= Racetech, Hygear, Noleen, to name a few...

Competition Local = NONE

shipping and waiting sucks...:bubbrubb2:
