I know most of you guys are on four wheels, but i'm looking for opinions on dirt bike tires. I've got a huge rip in my sidewall thats preventing me from riding right now. So far, my research has me leaning towards a michelin S12 because of all the sand here in FL. Anyone have any opinions on the Michelins, Dunlops, Maxxis, or dare i say it- Cheng Shins?

Personally I like the BFG 33x12.50x15 MTs. They work good in sand or on the rocks! :D

Thanks Andy. That's probably what i'll end up getting based on the price and the fact that its readily available, unlike the michelin's.
Al, any suggestions on how to fit one of those on my bike? heheh

I recently installed a set of Michelin Starcross MH3's on the MX bike and am very happy with them. They get great traction and are wearing very well. I would highly recommend the Michelins. Many seem to use the Dunlop D756 rears and D742a fronts. That what was on my bike when I replaced them and they were good tires as well.

Thanks BigMike, do you race, ride trails or both? I'm mainly at croom and ocala, so theres alot of soft stuff, especially in the turns so i was worried about getting an intermediate to hard terrain tire.

For Croom, I would definately consider something in the soft to intermediate category. I ride a lot of clay and hard pack tracks as well as loose loam trails. We also have tons of rocks. The hard terrain tire is a soft tire and will generally hook up in anything other than the rocks. I do not think there is a tire made that will hook up in the rocks. A hard terrain tire will also wear fairly fast due to the soft compound. The MS3 is a good tire for the sand and loam that Croom has so much of.
