a cam would help with some mid range power
but you dont need a rev limiter

Sometimes you can do a fake out with the timing -or you can do this.
http://www.magicracing.com/SRP-6-Degree-Key--TRX400EX_p_33.html
Does give you a little more pep
On my KFX400 I did the
kind of a rev box / timing /
9 way adjustable
had to do the fake out
There is no offset key for the LTZ / KFX 400
Check your compression or better yet get on a newer one
and see if there bike is peppier
may be time for a set.
Then while doing the rings do the cam (1) is that correct?
Fake out meaning when the spark goes off.
Hope I didn't mess you all up.

save your money to get them shocks rebuilt!
you'd be suprised how much faster that will make you
a more powerful motor doesnt always make you fast (not unless your drag racing)

I todally agree with david. My engine is Stock. so far the suspension and tires made the biggest diffrance.
I just thought of something though. My engine is the only thing that is stock now. Dam and I only had the bike for 1 1/2 years. Well the engine is sort of stock.

it just feels like it is geting out of the power ban between 2 3 when i hit the turn i have to down shift a lot thats why i thought the hot cam wood make a big difrance or i am open for more ideas or tack it for a ride and let me no :thumb:

The best fix for that is to drop a tooth on the front sprocket or add two teeth to the rear sprocket. With the lower gearing you will lose a little bit of top end speed but it will increase your torque alot and allow you to bog 3rd gear much lower and it only costs the price of a sprocket.
You can also try clutching into the turns and then hit the throttle and dump the clutch as you come out it it.

i droped one in the front i did not do the back so you do not think it wood be good to do anythink to the moter if it is not broke

but I think thats why Im replacing my clutch now :tard[1]:
taking the turns faster helps too
but yeah, leave the motor alone

I would do the shocks if you haven't done them yet. Probably the best upgrade you can to do to improve your speed.

I would definatly do this mod if I had a stock compression motor, cant beat it for only $30!

You should see a good improvement if you dropped one in the front, at least I did and I did nothing to the rear sprocket either. Much more responsive and torque-y-er (I'm inventing words).
