Dirt Location!

Hey, guys!

The last couple of mths. , I've heard about this Dirt Area locted on 301 & Fowler(Tampa/Temple Terrace). So, today I went out there to ride and Check it out.

It's Spacious and it's similiar to the "Sand Pit" @ Croom.But,it is more packed clay, then sand.
The area has a shallow pond in the middle of one of the areas to ride, that riders has been running through.

This oval layout has many elevation changes through out the area...some steep but, mangeable!

I believe u "Quad" folks would have a blast out there, Since, the layout of the area would be more suited for 'Quads'... But, I could see the Dirt Bikes out there having a Good time also...I know i did!

Now, there is a Ranch down the road from the area that I called as I was leaving, they said, it was abandon property own by a construction Co.and
there have been no issue's with people riding the area before.


The Area is not fenced nor does it have "No Trespassing" signs anywhere!

I'll post the direction's later...If anyone is interested in checking the place out!

HEAD EAST OFF OF HWY. 75 ONTO FOWLER

turn right after bridge (past fowler)southbound go to the end of road.

I am very interested. But Your directions make no sense. I assume you start off on Fowler Ave traveling east and turn left on 301. Then you say go to end of road. What road? 301 goes a long way before it ends. LOL

There are places to catch air...but, nothing like a track;Doubles,step-ups, table tops!ect.

But, u can set-up a Track there...that would be fun!

i have been there 2 years ago to check out the place,but no one could tell me if it was ok or what to ride there!its a nice place to ride,small but has a few hills and at one time,a deep drop,that was very nice until big 4x4 truck
smooth it down,for an afternoon ride it would be a great ride.

I'm heading out to The Clay pits/301 in about a hr. (12/1pm) to Ride some.

We went out there to check it out.We pulled down the street to find the cops at the end of the street.We quickly turned around and still drove back there.I looks like a cool place for a dirt bike but not to much to do on a quad. Good for a short afternoon ride.Left and the cops were gone so I guess they dont care

Andy, Did U drive back into the pit area and if so what were u driving?

That's Amazing that u don't believe...that there wouldn't be anything for a Quad to do...What makes u think that? (Just Curious):confused:

That were several 4x4...that drove through there today!

Never...Did we see any Popo!....And If we did, there's nothing they could do!

Yes we drove back there if you take the first dirt road after the locked gate the dirt isnt that bad.I was drivng a F250 super duty 4X4 got back there with ease.We saw a couple walls that if you worked on a little would be cool.Im not trying to make it sound like its not a good place.It just wouldnt keep me busy all day.I think its a good place to ride a couple of hours after work.Please dont take any offence to my post.Im not trying to start an argument

new to this site, great to see bunch of riders in tampa. i found google earth photo of this spot. have not been there but sounds good for a quick after work ride!
i know of one huge spot by my work (odessa private ranch) , just have to talk to owner of property! i think he rides dirt bike or his friends... there use to be people riding. i will post info once i talk to this guy.It is fenced in and he dont like tresspassers. i have to convince him first. i plan to make up waiver papers to sign to present to him and keep in cool.
JUST GETTING BACK INTO RIDING AFTER SEVERAL BAD YEARS OF BACK PROBLEMS, FINALLY GOT FIXED AND READY TO GO GET HURT AGAIN.

I'm always looking for places to ride that are local to Tampa bay Area..
The Bottom half of the 2nd photo..there alot of riding in that area....But, I didn't see the other pond...on the bottom 1/2 of the photo..Hum..

it's a fun place to ride as long as U can get everyone going in the same Direction:eek:..then U can Fly through there!

We run it counter clockwise (around the lakes and through the little hill area). Typically when we see other people out there, we encourage them to at the least run through the place in the same direction as us to avoid a head-on. Look forward to meeting you out there.

is there anyone going out there tomorrow or friday, I can go after 5pm tho, I wanted to go today but couldn't find anyone to go with, and I don't like riding alone (crash or any problems with the quad/bike)

not sure if anyone still goes here or what but I came across it on google maps and went out there last weekend when I realized the 301/crosstown rodeo place was closed. Rolled the trx pretty hard on a semi washed out portion of a trail I tried to slow jump freaking killed the shoulder and did some combat rolls to keep the trx from catching me rolling down the hill

After some research I thought this was the place people referred to as three o one

Yeah does anybody still go here. I heard it had a fence up. It was about a year ago since I've been there before my quad got stolen and my second deployment to Iraq!!!! I'm looking for a new quad so if anybody is selling one let me know!!!!

I did a job right up the street from the entrance a few years ago and I was talking to a cop there. He said they cracked down on people riding there cause of dumping. But since then I know Hillsboughro county bought some of the land. The popo and fire department use it for training once in awhile. Haven't been back since.
