What do you use to clean?

What do you use to clean your quad/bike? I have been using a degreaser on my plastics and engine like formula 88. I scrub the chain with a chain brush and use chain wax. As for the tires, I just hose them off.

It works well for me, but I am not sure if my method is the wise.

i use regular car wash detergent and a wash mit to clean, rubbing/touching everything i can. then use a compressor to blow dry entire bike. i use a dupont lube with teflon and silicon and spray most bare metal surfaces. then LOTS of armorall on all plastics and let sit caked on and dry. (i am a armorallaholic :eek:). then use the compressor to blow any standing lube or armorall. rub the chain with an old oil rag and apply chain lube. done. :D

I met a racer at Dade City that used "Cold Water Tide". He mix it with water in a spray bottle. Spray down the bike and then take the hose to it. Worked pretty good. The tide was very inexpensive compared to the products that the dealerships sell.

I use stuff called "purple power". You can get it at autozone, walmart, etc... It's pretty powerful stuff and very reasonably priced. Works great on grease, dirt, grime and whatever else you might get on yer bike... I do the air compressor thing afterwards followed by a towel. Then I scrub my pipe (PC works) with a scouring pad and re-oil with wd40. Then I hit the chain with some Motorex 622 synthetic lube. Then it's on to the air filter....everybody's favorite part....

i also use the purple power degreaser. but on the shiny stuff it will dull it. so after degreasing it i use windex and then a silicone spray and clean the K+N.
