DS650 Rear axle loose

Does any one have any knowledge of 2002 Bombardier DS650's rear axles? I was doing some maint. today and the axle spins free but there is alot of up and down play with the axle bearings where the axle seats in the rear swing arm housing. I checked on line but all I could locate was posts about the 2004-2005 rear axle breaking due to lack of factory grease in the bearings. Any help would be great!

Most all factory bearings do the same thing in all makes and models over time. I have replaced mine twice but im no stranger to mud/water.

Thanks I am going to just repalce them I have no wish to break down in the middle of no place.
