im working w thunderdually on a gps mapping and picture taking of spots of interest at croom. would cooking out and doing the map ride be of interest to do together?

They have alot of the major attractions mapped in a kml file that you need google earth to open. Once you have it open in google earth, you can easily look at the coordinates and plug them into your gps. I tried it with my old garmin, but its so old and crappy that the signal was intermittent in the trees.

What we want to do is add Pictures to the existing KML file. I have permission from the original maker of the map. The idea is to ride to the existing coordinates and take photos to add to the markers, so other riders can see what the places look like. Also we can add coordinates and photos to any place we think would be of interest to other riders.

in hindsight and talking to thunder, 2/10 is too soon and i also think it would be too much to try and cookout the same day. i think it would take most of the day to do the ride and take pictures at each waypoint.

Very cool idea. I think I might purchase a new gps soon, so that will definitely be useful. Hopefully I can help with the mapping/picture taking. I've been to croom alot and have a pretty good bearing on where the good trails are.

Most of you's could walk right past me and I wouldn't know who was who. Unless you start eating a steak and cheese sub and pull up a lounge chair. I have probably driven by everyone here.Maybe what we need is a sticker /w ridin dirty and our computer name along side of it.Something like that.
