I've got a cool custom signature that a friend made for me, but because of the size limits, i can't use it. I have my own hosting that i'll keep the image on, i'd just like to be able to display it in my sig area but the img code is disabled for signatures i think. any way around this?
here's what it looks like btw-

The size limit for your SIG is (The maximum size of your custom image is 500 by 100 pixels or 9.8 KB whichever is smaller)
Some options are reduce the file size or the Sig size. If you don't have a graphics program I can reduce it for you...
Your present PIXEL size is 700X150 AND file size is 56KB

Yeah, i saw those limits. thanks for the offer, i have a version thats under the pixel limits, but getting it under 9.8 KB is impossible without it being too small to see it. If the IMG code was enabled, i could display it in the signature, but it would be hosted from my own server and not using tbrd's bandwidth, which is generally the reason for the size (KB) limits.

The file size can be lowered without changing pixel size. (save your .jpg to the web in photoshop) 0r save it as a .GIF and that will lower file size
or you can send it to me and I will do it for you or have your friend do it..
Maybe I'm not understanding what it is you want to do...
If you have a sig that is 500X100 you should be able to set it as your sig no matter what the file size is. It's a matter of having it either the right pixel size or file size not both.
As far as hosting your sig on another site I think you will have to enter the URL every time you post.. Seems that would be a pain in the arse

I put up a test sig for my self it shows up in the control panel but doesn't show up in my posts
Ok it looks like you have to log off after applying the sig for it to show up....

yo, open up the image in photoshizzle, change the size to 500x100 or whatever, then save as a gif and change the color layer to say 35. This won't have the same clarity, but you will be under 7 or 8kb.
