Well as u all know he was raceing at the atv games yesterday well during the games he did not get proper hydration intake he had a heat stroke so everyone be properly hydrated for the summer ride safe. keep u updated

just spoke to his wife sam and they have stopped the bad bleeding...

basically after the xc race he had heat stroke and his violent throwing up created internal stomach lacerations and began bleeding internally.

they were able to coterize and clamp off the bleeding in the stomach. still concerned about the clamps if dont stay or he bleeds more, back to surgery...

he is heavily sedated so he doesnt disturb the clamps

can maybe talk tonight....

Update on Chef Dave, I left him about 7:30..... he was out of it.....they were going to do more testing tonight. He is having problems with the 3 blood transfusions and the white blood cells are rising...... just spoke to the nurse he has an infection causing the extreem sweating. He came thru surgery this am good, the bleeding is stopped. He needs rest so if anyone is interested in coming to see him please call me first to see his condition, (his body is very tired) I asked when I left tonight for no visitors until Theresa is on duty tomorrow and we see what condition he is in, if he is still out of it we many ask for the same (no visitors) tomorrow. Between Theresa,Jimmy, Brian and myself we will keep everyone posted. Thanks to every on on TBRD. You all know Dave, he will pull thru this. Feel free to call me 727-421-6404

Heat exhaustion is usually the first sign something is wrong with headaches or nausea, heat stroke though is pretty serious, means his core got above 105. I know for a fact all the military or ex military know the signs of this, its is a common occurence in certain environments. I've never heard of someone getting it as bad as Dave though. He must have been in some serious pain, but it can sneak up on you quick. Summer is coming guys, so when riding we need to be careful we keep up on our fluid intake.

WOW... I just got more time to catch up on stuff here. I'm glad to hear Dave is doing better and looks like he is going to pull through fine. Pretty damn scarey!

Heat exhaustion/stroke is nothing to play with. In the USMC they would make us drink 1 gallon of water / hr in desert environments....and this past weekend it was not far from that in the middle of the day.

Keep that water handy and drink a ton!!

Update on Chef Dave: I just left the hospital with Theresa (she has been my support system, everyone give it up for THERESA! Private room with accomidations for me to be with him, she had a second bed put in the room and he has the hook up. He is very alert doing GOOD.................... :bubbrubb2::bubbrubb2: is all he is thinking about right now. He wants to come home to the following in this order ........his quad, his dog, then me (wife always last :wtf:. Anyway he is looking forward to coming home in a few days. Theresa arrainged to work tomorrow(on her day off) to care for him so we can get him home soon. Thanks again to EVERYONE, TBRD ROCKS. Well Dave is doing great, he was moved to my floor on PCU this evening. He is now allowed to have visitors. I put him right across from my desk so I can keep a good eye on him. If he continues to do good tomorrow he should go home Thursday.

Update on Chef Dave: I took the day off (staying all day at hospital) just came back from having dinner with Andy Theresa, and my new BFF Samantha. He is ZONKED out...................Theresa must have had the doc order him the good sh*t. I did look at his dinner plate he drank the juice and the beef broth, sure hope he keeps it down, or I'll be calling Theresa in LOL.

Just want everyone to know that Theresa is giving Dave the best care:thumb::thumb: She is now working the Weekend since he is still here and she is scheduling herself Monday- Friday next week, I feel so relieved she is by his side I am going back to work Monday (sorry Theresa on your own). But really Theresa has really gone out of her way for my husband and that means the world to me!!!!!:applause:

Update on Chef Dave: Well folks I just left the hospital and Dave was in bad shape......... Theresa stayed for a bit tonight, not sure what the hell is going on...... One day good news then back to bad news. Today they put a line in to feed him nutrients,(Theresa can explain more about the new line) since he cant keep anything down. Looks like its a wait and see game here. Tonight is the first night I have left him:SugarwareZ-034:, will continue to update, hopefully I have better news next time.

I had a son who was in a Nick-u at St Joe's for three months with ups and down and it can be draining on a family. I rode with Dave on the Sat night ride at the Plex and he was a ton of fun. Dr just came in waiting room, Dave is out of surgery. Dr said the gul bladder was in bad shape basically he explained that it was not working at all. He will return to his room and go from there, when he eats and keeps it down he can go home, Dr said hopefully this is the last challenge his body should have to undergo.
