this is my 1st qaud.. and i have taken it to croom once so far (earlier today), i have already bought a full set of skid plates, shock covers, new hand grips, front bumper, and rear grab bar, plus i set the preload up all the way on the fronts and back shock(i'm 240lbs)...
i really need to find some riding spot closer then croom or maybe just smoother then alot of the trails at croom. i suck at the woops i found that out today trying to keep up with a friend on his raced out yfz450 i also found out how tough it is to ride these things though trails like that... after 25-30mins of that i needed a break. i hope my body gets use to riding fast..
if anyone can let me know where some close are trails it would be great...

I doubt it but I will ask a friend...I know the 660 and 700 ones are interchangeable, but the subframes on the YFZ are way different that I've seen.
If you upgrade your shocks, I think it will ride a lot better for you...the pogos on raptors suck a lot. Find some YFZ450 shocks or the SE piggyback shocks from 07+ SE raptor 700s

Nice Rappy, those 700's are beast's.
If you want to make your riding experience better, I would do the following;
Ride as much as possible, your endurance will skyrocket.
Upgrade the shocks, you can get some stock YFZ's off of ebay or craig's pretty cheap, and then have them resprung for your weight and preference.
Steering stabilizer. It is a real life saver on the arms, and will make your ridings times way longer.
Camelback. Hydration is key to riding in Florida humidity.
You may want to ditch the stock heal guards and get some after markets, most of us have busted the Yami's, they tend to be weak.

Welcome to the site. I put the yfz shocks on my raptor made a big diffrence, then I had Brian ( trx ) rebuild them for my weight and put tripple springs on the front. That also made a big diffrence.

YFZ Rear shocks won't work on a 700 as far as I know, I have looked into that before. Only the fronts work.

oh i haven't thought of that, i have heard you can use the yfz shocks but it could have been meaning just the fronts

:+1: My set came with a rear and it will not work. The rear shock is good, just respring it for your weight.

"ROCK" a arm plates, under chassis plates, and rear plate cover thing, new raptor blue hand grips, spark arrestor, shock covers, pro armor grab bar i spend around $400 and i think it made the raptor look a lot nicer and i hope will protect it from anything stupid i can do to it...
not the best pics but it looks 100 times better with the new stuff... i'm going riding tomorrow to see how i like it in the field all i need now is a baby 250 raptor for the wife and the fleet will be complete... thanks for all the help fellow raptor owners
BTW. i couldn't find amsoil anywhere around here so i had to use redline 10w-40 motorcycle/atv oil it says it for atvs on the bottle so i hope it will be fine...
