I posted on facebook, just haven't done it here but here goes.
Who is coming out next weekend to race the Hare Scramble/ Woods Race? The calls are coming in heavy, make sure you pre-register with us. You do not pay until race day but it will allow us to form the classes ahead of time and ensure we have enough workers/sweepers for the course. Email your name, race number, class, age and what your are racing to dirtyfootadventures@gmail.com

We still need several of you to pre register, please try to do this by tomorrow, thanks so much.
This will really help us create classes and expedite things on race day.
I just got back from Dirty Foot creating the course. We are going to be using some of the course from the FTR race, some of our course from last month and even some of the other courses we raced on earlier. This will most likely be the best course we have had so far! BRING IT!

I posted the race map on our website. The start will be in the field where we normally start. It is represented in block #4 and #5 and has an ink pin mark next to it. This one might be 11-12 miles or so long. We will have a vote on race day as how many laps we will do 3 or 4.

The course is 11.6 miles long and that is after we trimmed about 2 miles off from it. We will allow you to vote on the laps of the race, no more than 4 but most likely some will want 3. I still need many of you to pre-register.
We will not be allowing ANY side by sides in this race, sorry.

Dave youre faster then most 450's
He sure is.
And is there shade or do i need to go buy another canopy?
Dirty Foot Adventures
06-09-2011, 07:18 PM
We will create a 400cc class if there is a need. So far we have not received enough to make a class. There is not too many areas of the course where the 450 will shine over the 400.....
Where we hold the start/finish for the race is in an open field.....bring a canopy if you are searching for shade! Thanks for the reminder as I need to get mine as well.
The course is entirely marked as of today. It is marked with Blue and White markers. If you find yourself on one of these trails you must get off from it immediately. Any rider on the marked course will have description and/or # taken by DFA personnel and will not be eligible to race. Sorry to be so firm with this but we do not want anyone having an unfair advantage.
BTW- When I left today at 6pm it was STORMING like crazy. The main roads (County Line and Singletary) were flooding over with water while I was driving down the road.

We are requiring at least 3 to make a class. Find another 400 and you will have a class. We will do whatever we can to make this a fun race. If you get another we might start you on the same line as the C class but you will be separate when scored.

I truly think this course is tight enough where a 450 will not out power the 400cc. That is other than the open field (start/finish area), and 1 long open trail.

I stand there in that area to make sure that everyone makes it through the check point.......I think I am going to start parking the RZR next to me so that at least I have some where to run if some "upset crazy guy that just had to do 6 miles of palmettos" decides it was my fault and intentionally tries to take me out

When I was in the 100 miles of palmetto's on the 2nd lap, I was looking for a spot to pass a youth 85cc and a "A" dirtbike guy passed both of us and the youth dropped his bike right in front of me.. The race was great, jammed my thumb on the first lap and that ssssuuuucccckkkked! Jammed thumb and thumb throttle=suck:wtf:
Course was tough, but that's what separates the men from the boys! Great job Geno, another good race, just need that finish line jump rebuilt!!!! 3rd place in C, even though Plankey passed me but not too bad for the old 400!:bubbrubb2:

:wtf:
They would not have said that if it had been 4 laps, or two hours! We would of had some attrition, aka heat stroke!
It was great, and if they think it wasn't tough then why did I pass so many bikes??????????

McBee.....I was telling you what I was reading lol calm down!!
Really though I thought it was an a$$ kicker. I do not know how some of those new trails look now or if they wore in but they were though at the beginning. The one I am mentioning is the one after the camphouse when you took the hard left off the main road and it got REAL narrow in the woods area for a second then it was PALMETTO ROW. How did that trail come out?

This is a direct quote from one of the riders:
Luckily, I started in front of the quads!!! Still was dusty. The track was WFO. maybe for the quad dudes it was tight, but not for bikes. I would like to see a few miles of 1st and 2nd gear, but over all track was well laid out.
This was the first time that a quad has passed me. It was easy to stay out of the way for the quad dude to pass. His rocket skooter was just as loud as the space shuttle. Now that I think about it, its kind of funny. As i moved over, to let the One Manned Moon Rocket fly by, I can't stop thinkin about the dude sliddin sideways, going waaay faster than me, wavin like he's going on a curise. Its hard to describe, but that Moon Skooter was a cookin and dude was giving it all it had!!! AND THE DUST HE WAS SPITTIN WAS THICK FOR SURE!!!!
Good Times! If ya missed it.... sorry about your luck...
Good Job Dusty Foot... I mean Dirty...

I am calm, I know how hard it is for DFA to setup and run the races, people need to show love, since you don't have to do it!
The trail that is by the camp ground, now that is tight and technical, that has my vote for the next one! Just let me know if you want a course test rider, I will hook you up! After exploring out there I have found some challenging stuff!!!!!!:bubbrubb2:

I am told that there are a few miles that FTR cut in and did not use. We will try to incorporate those in the next race. I just know that the next race will be a wet one....I am sure that you will take some water over the dust though.

OHHHH yes, water would be gooood! There is a tight motorcyle type trail in the center section and there are many sweet trails in the wooded areas!

I'm guessing you mean CRAMPING in your legs? Although the heat was bad enough to make you crap your pants LOL

I would have been okay with a 10 mile course and the remaining almost two miles of palmettos taken out of the loop. It was a good time.

We wanted to give you some updates on changes for the next HS race.
We will have the gates open until 10pm on Friday the day prior to the race. There will not be any riding on Friday or Saturday morning prior to the race. We will leave the front area open (mx track, flack and drag strip).
We will have 2 courses, one for the bikes and one for the quads. The first race will start at 9am on Saturday morning. The second race will be around 12pm. Registration will be on Friday and then again Saturday morning.
The bike course will be tighter and slower, the quads will be smoother and still a little tighter. We will be in the middle of rainy season so expect some standing water but not too much.
Once again no riding on Friday or Saturday before the races. After the races are over on Saturday we will open the trails for normal riding Saturday and Sunday.
We are currently looking for a transponder scoring system. Should you know of one for sale please contact us.
There was a bit of confusion about the finish. As with any race once the first place rider is flagged for the finish the entire group is flagged. This does not mean that you get a DNF and it also does not mean that you can not continue onto another lap. There were several that did an extra lap but many that thought they were scored a DNF. This was not the case what so ever. You were scored based off from the way you came through on the checker.
