View Full Version : grenaded chain and rear maintenance

well you remember recently seeing my front sprocket grenaded with 3 teeth left... well, john gave me a front sprocket and after and weekend of wet riding at dirty foot the driveline was making aweful sound... heres why...

first i want to remind yall to maintain your rear :eek: :crackup: at minimum ful teardown at each chain/sprocket rplace (which always do together). i use anti-sieze on my swingarm bolt and it came out like butter this time!! my carrier still had some water in it from water riding. clean everthing well and regrease..

heres the noise... missing alot of the rollers on the pins of the chain. pic sucks but you can see the top 4 links are only pins :eek: :cussing: and you can see split rollers ready to go...

i do not recommend Tusk driveline parts. used them 2 times and seem to wear fast. no skimping this time...Renthal package with R4ATVZRing :thumb: and uped the front 1 tooth... we will see and report...

Man that sprocket has a lot of life left on it, just flip it over and it will be like almost new!!:crackup:
