Friend of mine was out there last week and said sherrifs department put up No Treaspassing signs and are sitting out there waiting. Riders beware!

Wow. Seems long overdue. Sad to lose a riding spot though.

I thought there was some legal loophole with the land and that's why it remained open.

I heard that the land owner that was charging people to park on his property was shut down but they didn't say anything about stopping people from riding there.

well before they couldn't charge anyone with trespassing because they didn't have a "victim", becasue they couldn't contact any landowners, and even then, they could only charge them for tresspassing on an individual lot, and rancho is divided into almost 900 lots. Maybe the county has finally found the loophole they were looking for to keep people out? Not too much of a loss either way IMHO

It would be interesting to know how the Polk SO is enforcing this. If you own property back in their I do not see how or if you were a guest of a property owner how they could go with trespassing or restrict access on a common right of way to get to a piece of property. :scratch chin: Then if they are going under trespassing you need a victim and proof of the crime and to prosecute you need to prove you were trespassing beyond a reasonable doubt, like any crime in the US. Never the less its not worth the hassle when you can just ride Croom, ONF or any of the other private places.
