so do you think drafting someone on the highways saves gas?

when i had my lifted truck i had a mpg average meter and would reset it behind a semi and definitely see a few extra mpg.

think the same for cars?

obviously riding the bumper is best but does it get to a point where the air coming down behind the car could cause a loss of mpg? :tard[1]:

not sure about gas but in my ups truck i deliver on hwy 60 and taking off obviosly is slow but when i am picking up speed if i get behind a bigger truck/suv or semi truck i will definitely pick up speed a lot faster

it is proven that drafting another vehichle will save gas and can affect accel. but there is a sweet spot depending on the vehichle in front and the aero. of your vehichle.

ahhhh true true but is there a sour spot worse than running in free air?

or is it always better any distance from another vehicle? but behind a vehicle than individually?

accually yes running in free air could be better than certain distances behind tractor trailers. because of wind shear or the swirl coming off the back of the trailer. Try driving with your window open a little and listen to the air rushing into the vehichle. at certain distance you will see a diffrance. Also wind direction affects all of this also.

Me and a friend in his camaro were on the highway behind a semi(about 2-3 feet)and you could roll the windows down and very little air was comming in.We have enough pople we can set up a draft going up to croom:crackup::bubbrubb2:

I know on a bike as you come up behind them there is a spot maybe about 100 feet back behind the semi's that the air is all disturbed.

I don't know about following that close with the trailer and quads!
